HI guys..
when I go to Edfu on cruise or felucca, I say for my group:

THE TEMPLE IS 2 KM DISTANCE FROM HERE, WE WILL TAKE A CARRIAGE, THE RULE NUMBER ONE HERE IN EDFU... DO NOT DEAL WITH CARRIAGE MEN HERE, AVOID THEM, THEY ARE UNRESPECTED, UNEDUCATED TROUBLE MAKER MEN, PLEASE LET ME DEAL WITH THEM...

Why I say that????
because we are tour guides face lots of troubles with them, they are very greedy, if you gave them tips 20 LE they will ask more, and they will say, "oooh this is very little, give me more",they are more than 700 men in one small place!!!at the park of boats, they always fight each other, and talking in a bad manners, the government can not take a control of them, I made lots of complaint to the police, because they left me and my group beside the temple in the time of they promised to wait us...some little fights had happened to my friends tour guides with them, fortunately nothing happened to me yet, I hope so forever ...

I have some situations (funny) happened to me with them, I will mention them into situations section soon..

they made the tips as a tribute, minimum 20 LE + the fee 7 LE = 27 LE in the usual times, lots of tourists, told me im not supposed to give them the amount they decide, I should decide the amount of tips, it may be more than 20 LE, I tell them "that is the minimum, they do some troubles with me if I paid less than 20 LE..." shame on them to that I really hate them, and I can not change the rules they made.

you will deal with them, if you in a big group, you will take private bus or van....

what should you do if you want to take a private car instead of that bad carriages?
there are a company for renting cars, the price is 60 LE, and 10 LE tips for the driver, if you need that car contact me, to give you the contact number of that company, it is not allowed here to show the number...
